Getting Personal #208: “3 Story Treehouse, Scotland” (Reblogged)

I wanted a treehouse so badly as a kid. We had so many trees in our backyard, but I never got my wish. So, I wrote about them, daydreamed about them, and got overly excited when I saw them on TV or in movies. I certainly climbed trees and enjoyed every tire swing, rope swing, and hammock that I came upon, but nothing really compares to a treehouse.

This image caught my eye immediately. Did you know that you can stay overnight in treehouses in certain areas? I would love to do that someday.

But, for now, I’m staring at this photo and daydreaming.

If you could build a massive treehouse, what would you put in it or do with it?

  1. Wow!

I never had a treehouse. But we had a fairly large apple tree in our yard with branches low enough that it was easy to climb, and it was my spaceship. The first place where the trunk split into smaller branches, that was where I would sit while I was on autopilot traveling to other planets. The highest branch that I could safely climb to, that was where the controls were. And there was a branch that kind of was shaped like monkey bars on a playground, where I could hang off that and then drop safely to the ground; that was how I would get down to the surface of the planet I landed on. Sadly, the tree died at some point during my childhood and fell over (nothing was damaged) when I was in high school.

  2. Such a cool post!
    P. S. Please check out my blog for all details of the book club:)

  3. Hide away of course. You know, I think I want a tree house now. And I would love to go on one of those glamping vacations in one.

    • Excellent. And, yes, Iā€™m with you on glamping! My brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and niece stayed in a glass igloo or dome Airbnb a few Christmases ago!
